Simona's Family Needs Help!
Update: November 14, 2008
We have an update from Simona in her new foster home:
Hi everyone, This is Simona - Auntie is using her computer to help me talk to you. I feel so much better tonight. All my room is clean and I have lots of stuff to eat. I do not know what most of it is, but it tastes pretty good and I am so hungry. It seems no matter what I eat, I am still hungry. I also have to take some ucky stuff Auntie gives me ..she says it is medicine. uck All my babies (by the way I have 11 babies not 9) are sweet and they are a pretty big...they look like they are a week old and I know I JUST delivered them this morning !. Auntie Heather (she is the human here that brings stuff to us) kept handing me hays and she gave me a nice box so the kits and I woudl have a place to sleep. I must have looked strange trying to get all that hay in my mouth at once I don't; know what possessed me! I ran all over with hay in my mouth until I found just the right spot. Then I added my fleece blanket too. Perfect! I check on my babies often as they seem hungry just like me! they have the tiniest little voices but I can hear them! They are so beautiful to me. Just wait till you see their cute tiny faces. When they grow up they will be very special, I can tell. I miss my other children already, but they are in foster care now- I just cannot manage 18 children all by myself. I hope you will understand. Oh, Auntie said that they may get to go on a trip to find new homes soon and you know, I am happy about that because at first I was just SO stressed out thinking we were all going to die, then we were swooped up and saved (I do not quite understand all that) but I do know that no one died. they were all here today I saw them! They went to the vet and guess what??? they are super healthy! Plus They are safe. Thank you for caring and helping me save these babies and my new little ones too!. Auntie talked to Nicole tonight. She has also talked to Jennifer and Denise. I think Danielle is very nice to take care of my babies.. She is a very good foster parent. she brought me over to Auntie's just in time too I was getting cross because I was in labor and even though I love them, the older babies were pestering me. so I decided to pull out some of their fur to help with my nest. they were not cooperative and screamed out loud -this scared Danielle. sorry Danielle.. Now I have an entire new group of 11 babies to look after. They are SO demanding. I do not like to be very far from them and I like my room to be clean but just a certain way. Tonight I came out of my room and visited with Auntie in the living room for a bit, but I still am unsettled and so I go nervous and ran back and jumped into my house. I feel safer there. Oh, I know how to use that litter box too. Auntie says I am most beautiful she looks at me and says "Hello my precious". I like her voice. I am safe and I KNOW IT. Well I am tired now so I am going to rest and go feed my tiny ones - Love to everyone that helped save my children and me too! I do not have all the right words but I know I love you! One day I will do a binky. Love, PS: Will the transport people please contact Auntie so she can arrange stuff...She uses a thing called a computer and also a phone 831 600-7479 or 831 239-7119 or you can use the computer. That way it will be good and maybe one day soon I can travel and be in a peaceful place for a very long time. I want to be calm. Oh, Auntie said to tell you that I am really not brown. I am champagne in color (whatever that is)

Simona and her family are safe in foster care with The Rabbit Haven! A member of the rabbit community website BunSpace saw our appeal, and
rescued the family last week. They are now in foster care with her for a few weeks, until they are ready to be moved again to begin the process of
finding their own homes. People called from Georgia, Virginia, Washington, Los Angeles, and other places in the Bay Area. As it turns out,
the first foster site (step one) will be close to home here in Santa Cruz. Thanks to the wonderful members of BunSpace that made this possible!
You can make a donation to provide for the care and transportation of Simona and her family via Paypal, or donate by check. Please indicate that your donation is for Simona.

Dear bunny loving people, I have seven children and the place I am says I cannot keep them. In fact, they say that my kits will die unless they find other places to go (something about space) ... Please help me get them to safety! There is nothing more important to me. It is ok with me if my babies go to different places - I have to save their lives. Even taking 2-3 will be a huge help! Of course I am terrified, but I hope you will help me save my little ones. Knowing loving caring people will care for my children will make whatever happens to me OK. PLEASE HELP! Auntie Heather is helping me to contact you (she has a computer) - she also says she will come to pick them up and take them where they need to go to help me. I don't drive and anyway I am stuck in a cage! My babies are precious, adorable and all of them are so pretty and deep black, except the one tiny girl that looks just like me. She is a soft cocoa color. Wait until you see them - they are So cute!!!!!! I have hardly finished nursing them, but they are 5 weeks old so it is ok - just feed them lots of alfalfa...Knowing they are safe will bring me eternal joy! Please help me. Call Auntie right away or email her: director@therabbithaven.org. Auntie said she will get in her car and drive them anywhere. She can pull them to safety immediately, but they need somewhere to go! So will you help me please?? Love, to you, Bunny Mom Simona. You can reach Auntie at 831 239-7119. I do not have a phone either. Email director@therabbithaven.org. |
