Rabbit Haven Bunnies Available for Adoption

Rabbit Haven's ultimate goal is the permanent placement of our rabbits in safe, loving homes.  Adoption counseling, visitation, and education services are available to the general public.  We require that all rabbit caretakers provide permanent homes, a safe environment, proper food, grooming, medical attention, and the love and support essential to the rabbit's well-being.  We recommend that all rabbits be kept indoors and that they be allowed to live with the family and not apart (i.e., set aside in a back yard hutch).

Rabbit Haven only adopts to families who agree to keep rabbits indoors. Outside arrangements are discouraged due to early lack of social setting, early deaths caused by exposure to disease agents, such as the very deadly Myxomatosis, and predators that may harm the rabbit.  All new adoptive families receive discount coupons from area pet supply retailers, and an informative information packet.

Below we provide information about the bunnies available for adoption.  Additional information about the adoption process is provided at the following links:

Rabbits in the Rabbit Haven System  (Last Updated August 20, 2008)

for more information on any of the following bunnies

Kataya Kataya

Kataya is an athletic and energetic bunny with an enthusiasm for climbing on things, but so far never getting up so far she can't get back down. A young rabbit just fully grown, she has brindle-patterned fur that looks dark brown from a distance. Sharing a home with a cat or dog is not an issue. She is independent and will do fine as a single rabbit.

Attentive and curious, Kataya is frequently found standing up on her back feet to get a better look at what the humans are doing - particularly if there is a possibility of getting some of her favorite foods of timothy pellets and fresh greens, which are sprinkled throughout her 3'X8' pen. She has a healthy appetite for her staple food of oat hay, as well. Kataya has been spayed and healthy.

She gets daily exercise periods which include time and space to run around and climb on boxes and crates. Her pen also includes small boxes for her to climb and includes places to strech out to relax or to sleep.

Hoppy Hoppy

Hoppy was an Easter gift, and guess where he ended up? The animal shelter, of course. Thankfully, he was not just set free and was brought to the shelter when his owner moved. He is a very nice little Dwarf male and is easy to handle. He is also very social and outgoing and has lots of things he would rather be doing that hanging out in an animal shelter. He can not wait for a loving family to adopt him and give him the right home. He gets along with cats very well as long as they realize that he is the boss.

Jellybean Piecrust Jellybean Piecrust

Jellybean was brought into the shelter as a stray. He must have been attacked by a predator because he is missing the tip of one of his ears. He is a very sweet and easy to handle dwarf mix and has been great with his litterbox since he came to the shelter. He loves to be petted and loves veggies. He is very interested in other rabbits and would like to meet a lonesome bunny that needs a friend.

Nadal & Pilates Barcelona Nadal & Pilates Barcelona

Nadal (black bun) and Pilates (Hotot) were surrendered to the shelter by their owner. They are about one year old and very easy going. They are extremely clean with their litterbox and both love to be petted. Both are also easy to handle and really enjoy bunny toys like Cottontail Cottages and MazeHavens. They love veggies but mostly want to just snuggle or play together so we really want them to go to the same home. We will even give an adoption discount if you adopt them both.

Milkdud Milkdud

Milkdud is a young energetic small Holland Lop that just wants to play and play and play. He could be the binky champion if he had more space to really make them count. He arrived at the shelter as a stray and does not want to be in cage so he will be neutered ASAP to help redirect his energy. He is already doing very well with his litterbox so he will do great as a house rabbit. He will expect a pen instead of a cage and lots of playtime to show off his skills.

Jefferson Hareplane Jefferson Hareplane

Jefferson Hareplane was a helicopter bun but he is a true lop now that both ears have fallen. He is only 4 months old and was found as a stray sleeping with some dogs that had adopted him! He is a mellow guy but LOVES to run around and check out everything. His ears and tail are very long and we expect he will be over 10 pounds when he is fully grown so will need a pen or be free range to be comfortable in his new home. He is about 2 feet long when all stretched out and so far it is his favorite thing to do after checking out a room. He is neutered and available for adoption now.

Siren Siren

See my video!

Siren is ready to find the right home. She was purchased at a local feed store where her owners were not instructed on proper rabbit care and the importance of spay and neutering rabbits. She was housed in a backyard hutch and started to become hormonal and territorial when she reached breeding age. Her owners surrendered her to the shelter because they did not know what to do with her aggression. Shelter staff and volunteers are very familiar with the frustration that unaltered rabbits have to deal with. Once they are spayed or neutered, they use their litterboxes better and become more mellow and less anxious. Siren was recently spayed and is feeling less anxious and more loving everyday. She is very entertaining and loves to explore everything and visit the other shelter rabbits. She begs for attention and loves to be petted too. Can you provide her with a loving home?

Onion is a very playful and active Mini-Rex. He loves to play in his Cottontail Cottage and thinks it is the greatest toy ever invented for rabbits. He must have one in his new home. He is so tiny that he stands on his hind legs all of the time to get a better view of the world. He is very easy to handle and hold and is also very interested in other rabbits and cats. He loves exercise time, and aside from a small guilt trip, he is easy to put back in his kennel.

Brendon is the big boy of his litter, and he has the classic hotot eyes outlined with lovely black. His eyes are shiny and bright, and he is an outgoing and fun-loving bunny. He enjoys snuggling, but toys and play time are a must too! Brendon says:

Hi! I used to protect my brothers when we were just babies, me being the biggest and strongest and all. But they are old enough now, and I want someone to protect and love me! and I love to play with jingly toys. I am also using my litter box, just like a big bunny. I'm also really good at doing binkies, jumping for joy and tossing my head side to side. Yipee!

Billie was born in early June 2008. Both of his eyes are outlined in black, and he has a few dots on his back. He is mischievous, and cute to boot! He can just do anything and give you the cutest look and you will not care! He likes to drink water from a bowl, and uses his litter box! Billie says:

That Chuck! I know he's blaming me for the alfalfa and cardboard house incidents, but really, I'm innocent. How could anyone as cute as me be to blame? I love alfalfa hay and cilantro, and I enjoy running and jumping and playing with my brothers. Did I mention I need lots of room to play? I love toys too and lots of alfalfa hay!

I have more spots on my back than any of my brothers. Guess how many? Go ahead and count them. Now wasn't that fun? I would love to play other games with you too. Please won't you take me home? I love to eat hay, get pets, and kisses. I think cardboard houses are fun and toys too. I have a cottontail cottage!

Caliope Caliope

Caliope is always ready for adventure. When the sisters are brought to the couch or to a play area, Caliope is the trailblazer, exploring and investigating absolutely everything. She has wonderful black rings around her eyes that make her look alert and interested all the time. She has been handled a lot by older children and, like her sisters, would be a wonderful pet for a family with children who understand and know how to hold rabbits. With just the right support from you, she'll zone out stretched out on her back on your lap, happily letting you play with her loose, relaxed paws all you like!

We love to chat with our friends and have the babies stretched out on our laps, limbs limp and relaxed, eyes half closed, and twitching noses twitching just a little slower!

Lute
Lute Wisteria Wisteria
Lute & Wisteria

See Lute's video!

See Wisteria's video!

Lute was born in December of 2007, the only surviving kit of a litter born to a very young mother in a shelter. Lute and his mother Lyra were rescued soon after his birth.

Lute says:
I am an angel in a bunny suit, yes I am! I love everyone and kisses and hugs from people. I feel wonderful and I live to do binkies. I am a tiny boy (so they say) and I am a very lonely boy - I want a female companion please - perhaps a tiny girl just like me or at least my own human family. I think you will think I am the best bunny ever! I am staying with my buddy Wisteria and she's great, but we are not bonded, just good friends. The thing I love most in life is love! I also like toys and playtime, adventures and exploring. I am VERY cute!!! I would love to play with you some time.

Binkies, Lute.

The beauty of Wisteria is difficult to describe. To begin you have to know she is a lionhead dwarf. Her markings are spectacular! We have only seen one other lionhead like her before. Her mane is growing out and her tufts of fur (important to her breed) are still growing. She has the classic, sleek shiny short coat on the rest of her cute self. Wisteria is mysterious and loving and exceptional is every way - She is super clean, eats breakfast with foster mom and dinner too. She loves oat, timothy and orchard grass hay and has never had anything but Oxbow food. She appreciates clean fresh sheets as her flooring and food and water dishes (no bottles here please). She loves companionship and relates to her humans deeply with confidence and care. She is loving and very sweet. She can play for hours looking in every tent and walking through tunnels and venturing throughout the house and finds her way back to her litter boxes strategically placed in the house. She does not seem to enjoy dogs.

Rascal Bumblebee Rascal Bumblebee

See my video!

Rascal Bumblebee is a small neutered English Spot mix. He is very gentle and doing so well with his litterbox, that he is now on display in a pen at the shelter. He is going to show all of the other rabbits how to be a proper house rabbit. He loves exercise time and every time we feed him, he always seems confused and looks at us like "Is this for me?" He does not seem like he has had a lot of kindness in his short life but is taking all he can get his paws on. He does great with cats and will do well with one in his new family.

Yogurt Yogurt

See my video!

Yogurt learned the hard way that setting your pet rabbit loose, did not make him "free", it made him "food". He is very lucky to have survived being attacked by a predator like a dog or raccoon. He is also extremely lucky that Good Samaritan brought him to the Watsonville Animal Shelter so he would be safe. Considering a predator tried to eat him, he does not hold any grudges around the shelter cats and quickly let them know that he is the boss during playtime. He is a very sweet, gentle, and easy going bunny so we decided he needed a 2nd chance to find a family that will protect him and return all of the love he has to give. White bunnies with blue eyes are not very common so he will need a special family to appreciate how beautiful he is.

Kelly was surrendered by her owner because she had not been spayed and had an unexpected litter of babies. The owners raised the babies and found homes for most of them, but didn't have time for Kelly. Kelly is now spayed and is very happy and healthy. She loves getting extra attention and does not mind being picked up. She likes to hide under your jacket where she feels safe and secure next to your beating heart. She is still shy but is slowly gaining confidence. Kelly is a dwarf mix.

Hi I am Evelena, a gorgeous black mini rex. I am almost 1. My foster family says I am fabulous and they say I am pretty. What do you think? I love pets, entertaining myself by playing about and tossing my toys. I am in litter box training 101 and have learned to love Hay and greens and fresh water. Oh my I just love this stuff. All I had before was ole pellets and a dirty water bottle Ugh! I once lived was a dark, small cage. It was boring and dirty and I was sad. Finally, I found my way to the Haven and now I am just waiting for the right home with great people who will love me - I love back! I do binkies because I am happy. I am still learning that it is ok to get pets just because….I know how to drink out of a nice fresh bowl of water and I love that! I saw a doctor and they said I was healthy and I am spayed. So what do you say -Want a wonderful new bunny companion like me? I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Madison Madison

What a sweet boy! Madison is a neutered all white male bunny with very light pink eyes. He's a medium-sized (6.5#) full-grown rabbit that is about two years old.

Madison was originally adopted from the Rabbit Haven on 12/10/05. They didn't say why, but through no fault of the bunny, his family got tired of him and placed him out on a porch where he received very little socialization. This hurt his feelings (bunnies want to be part of the family, not stuck out in an area by themselves). On 4/20/07, they surrendered him to a local animal shelter with only a blanket (they did not bring his carrier, food, supplies, or toys). Alert and caring shelter workers realized he was a Haven bunny and notified us so we could rescue him from possible euthanasia and place him in one of our foster homes.

Madison is such a good-hearted, well mannered, and clean bunny. He has perfect litter-box habits, and he'll make a great addition to a quiet home where he can learn to trust and love and play with humans again. He has made great strides to becoming a mild, happy bunny he once was. Every morning he greets the day from the top of his house, waiting for his special attention and nose-pet session. He's a very good eater, preferring to nibble through out the day, instead of gulping his food. He likes all his greens and herbs, especially cilantro, fennel and dandelion greens. Romaine is a staple most days and he still enjoys it. He likes timothy hay, preferring the American Pet Diner Second Cut better than Oxbow. Treats of oat hay, a bit or carrot or thin slice of banana are a big deal to him. But watch your fingers with the banana, he gets confused which is fingers and which is banana. He's very good about sitting on his foster mom's lap and being brushed/combed, which he needs regularly. He also like to lounge in the TV room and do binkies to distract everyone from the TV.

Can you give this deserving soul a forever home? He's had too much neglect and abandonment for such a short life - are you the family who can give him the attention and love he sorely desires?

She likes towels to bunch and lounging about just being her cute self! Cali was born in February of 2008 and will be ready to spay when she is 6 months old. She is in excellent health. Cali loves hay mixtures, alfalfa and orchard grass. She is still on Oxbow 15/23 alfalfa pellets, and she loves them. She uses a 5" food water crock. Tashi Tashi

I do not know how I got here. One day I was all alone on a busy street, and then I was rescued and brought to The Haven. I am a tiny gray and white Dutch mix sweetheart (that's what Auntie calls me). I love being held and cuddled and I am super affectionate. I am very young, I was born in April of 2008. But Auntie says I am old enough to go with a family of my very own, if they are super special and know how to care for tiny baby bunnies. My friend who I live with is Remy. She was also abandoned. We just meet a little while ago and became fast friends. I was scared and Remy helped me feel better! She give me little kisses on my forehead and I feel better now. Remy is scared too so we have something in common. Remy and I love alfalfa hay and greens - and love of course, lots of that! Wow I never knew it felt so good to snuggle! We both love to play and we will be good girls ok??? So contact my Auntie If you are interested in me because I am ready to have a new adventure for a lifetime. How about if Remy comes too ???

Love, Tashi

Remy is a tiny 5 week old baby girl. She was rescued form a severe abuse situation. Remy and her family are survivors - As Remy was an infant we elected to rescue her. We could not locate the mother and fear she had already died by the time animal control went out to rescue them. The rest of Remy's relations went on to a wonderful rescue in the Northern area. They were feral rabbits and needed more wide open space to be comfortable. Remy is just darling and very calm. She loves holding, hay and alfalfa pellets. She has not yet figured out toys but loves her litter box. She goes right there! She has a special snuggle toy.

They like spending their time together but also enjoy being petted and snuggled by their people. He is very friendly and will follow you around the house wherever you go. He has lots of energy and LOVES the cottontail cottage we got from www.busybunny.com. Unfortunately, Scooter had a very bad experience with dogs when he was little and cannot relax when his big ears hear a dog bark. He wouldn't be comfortable living in the same house with a dog. Her fur had never grown in completely due to malnutrition, and she was covered with small scabs, stained fur, and a layer of dirt on top. Well, she has made it clear that she is not garbage. After much love and even more food, Cosset is the pet lamb her name refers to. She is very grateful for all the food and attention she has gotten and is very loyal because of that experience.

Danika grew up in a chicken house with roosters and two other bunnies. After a rooster attacked and killed her bunny friend, Danika was confiscated by animal control officers who saw that she needed a safe place to live and healthy food to eat. Now Danika is getting used to REAL food, with Timothy hay and pellets, and fresh veggies. After her previous diet of bird food, she wants a home that will give her a healthy variety of fresh greens every day. Rabbits cannot properly digest seeds and grains, so she doesn't want to eat those ever again! Danika did have a cut on her chin from one of the roosters, but is has already healed. The amazing thing is that she loved being picked up and cuddled.

Kahlua Kahlua

Kahlua is a beautiful caramel-colored rabbit with silky-smooth fur. Attentive and curious about new sights and sounds, she is energetic but not hyper. After a rough start to life, having had two litters by the time she was a year old (now spayed, so no more litters), Kahlua now seems to be relaxing and warming up to human companions, enjoying the occasional petting session. She also shows signs that she could be compatible with other rabbits, so long as they are not aggressive. Her daily exercises are adventurous and fun.

Kahlua has a good appetite for the right kinds of foods, thoroughly enjoying sorting through a good handful of oat hay for just the right pieces, and reacting with enthusiasm to timothy pellets and fresh greens which are sprinkled throughout her hay and 3' X 8' pen. She is looking for a permanent home. Her pen includes little hideaways and places to strech out to relax or to sleep. When Kahlua is not in her pen she is exercising or roaming about freely.

Garnet Garnet

Hi! My name is Garnet, my brown fur has kind of a red tinge to it (like the jewel, a garnet!) so you can tell it's me. I am a neutered boy and was born around March 25, 2008. My foster mama says I'm super special because my fur is extra soft and I am very sweet. I love to eat, I especially love my alfalfa hay & pellets. I also run up whenever I can to get my head scratched and I cuddle up with my foster mama as much as possible. I weigh a little less than 4 lbs and probably won't get a whole lot bigger. I live with small dogs, other bunnies and a cockatiel (it's a bird, she's very chirpy!) and of course my foster mama. Maybe I'll see you soon!

Agate Agate

Hi there! My name is Agate, I think that I'm a boy (it's hard to tell sometimes because I'm still so little). My foster mama says I'm very special because I'm the only black one in my litter, I'm the only boy and I'm the biggest. I love eating (greens are my favorite) and I also run up to anyone who wants to give me some lovies. If I see my bunny mom Kahlua getting pets then I go over so I can get mine too. I also like to snuggle on my foster mama's shoulder. I was born around March 25, 2008. I am still nursing from my mom Kahlua so I am not available to go to my forever home yet. But by the end of May I should be ready! If you like me you can go ahead and talk to my Auntie Heather on her email and I will meet you soon. Right now I live with my foster mama, small dogs, a cockatiel and other bunnies. I have to go now, I hope to meet you soon!

Alana Alana

Alana and her family were rescued by The Haven when she was a newborn in December of 2007. She has grown into a spunky little girl who loves to play and have fun. She is looking for a special home to call her own.

Alana says:

Hello there, my name is Alana. I am a soft brown martin mix girl. I adore hours of playtime and soft music, toys and loving humans. I happen to be pretty connected with my mom but we agreed that it would be ok if we have separate homes. I love her but realize that some people do not have room for two bunnies in their home. I like toys and greens and I use a litter box. I like to be held and I do not chew wires. I was recently spayed, so I am ready to start me new life, maybe with you?

Love, Alana

Alexei and his family was rescued by The Haven when they were newborns in December of 2007. He is a sweet boy who like to play with toys, and appreciates a good nose pet from time to time.

Alexei says:

I am a small dark black sleek and handsome boy. Auntie says I am too cute - whatever that means. I am happy, healthy, loving and sweet. I adore hay, food of all kinds (particularly dark leafy greens of any kind) and toys to have fun with. I have a cottontail cottage to play in and a willow tunnel which is really fun! Auntie got them at Busy Bunny, those guys make really fun stuff. Call her if you want an appointment to meet me!

Strawberry Strawberry

I am the biggest bunny of my whole family, yet most shy. I will hide in the corner until I know I'm safe. However, if there is food in sight, I am the first at the table. I love alfalfa hay, pellets & fresh vegetables. Boxes with cut outs to play in and run through. I love jumping for joy and playing. I have just about got this litter box training down, but I still need some work. I love being held, kissed and lots of petting. I am a love.

My name is Bacardi. I am a cute little Dutch girl, born in February of 2008. I am SO silky soft! I was born in a shelter, and soon after that I was rescued along with my momma and siblings. I am a little shy at first around people I don't know, but if you give me some time to trust you I will make a very good bunny friend. I have mastered my litter box, and I am looking forward to being a spoiled house bunny one day soon. My foster mom has 2 little dogs and cats and kittens. I love everybody! I like to play with the kittens and I don't mind the dogs sniffing in my fur. Sometimes I rub noses with them because they are my friends. I love fresh greens from the farmer's market and am particularly fond of cilantro. Strawberries are my favorite treat! My sister, Mojito, is my best friend and if you like me, we are a package deal! Walker and Spencer

Spencer and Walker started living together when they were only 8 weeks old. They got into a really bad fight which resulted in Spencer getting a permanent ouch on her nose. I separated them and had Walker neutered. Once he was over his six weeks it was time to get Spencer spayed. As soon as she was healed enough to be put back together I did. They bonded back up immediately and have been joined at the hip ever since. Walker is a very playful boy! He loves crawling under his blanket and playing peek-a-boo with Spencer. They love to chase each other around and see who can do a higher binky! Spencer also thinks that she is a jumping bean because she will surprise you and do a binky straight up in the air! They both love to eat their alfalfa hay and pellets and simply adore romaine and spring green mix. They love to be snuggled and give kisses.

Raspberry Raspberry Keeblercookie

See my video!

Raspberry is a blast. She is a classic big white bunny and would be perfect for an active family. She was surrendered to the shelter by a Good Samaritan who saved her from a homeless person who could not afford to care for her. She was initially very thin but is perfect now. She is so social and outgoing that she is difficult to keep up with. She never wants to go back in her pen because she has many many bunny things to do. She does like to visit with the other resident bunnies and let them know that she is Queen of the Rabbit Room now. Raspberry is in LOVE with her new willow and straw toys. She picks up the willow ball with her teeth and tosses it across the room. She also plays soccer with it, if she can get you to kick it back to her. She rolls it around using her chin. She is very playful and loves to run laps when she gets excited about something. Raspberry does have a preference for treats, especially raisins and raspberries! She needs a balanced diet of fresh veggies, timothy rabbit pellets, and timothy hay. She always insists that she hasn't had any treats, so she gets away with more than one raisin sometimes. One raisin has enough sugar for the whole day for her body size! You might need to stock up on frozen raspberries for this girl, because it would take a long time for her to eat a basket.

Dolce Dolce

My name is Dolce. I'm cute, eh? My foster mom says I'm a very endearing sweet baby bunny who was found at the shelter all by myself - no siblings and no mother. I wasn't even old enough to eat on my own, so when I was rescued by The Haven's volunteer she fed me lots of milk from a syringe. I was so weak then, but I'm much stronger now. I have lots of energy to explore the room and run around as fast as I can, playing "escape from the predator" games. I'm a happier bunny these days, but I do wish I had a playmate though. Someone to call my own friend and family. Please come and meet me. I am sure to win your heart over! I love to play and I am happy. Please adopt me so I have a home of my very own. I am almost finished with my syringe fed milk. My foster mom is really good at this, but I look forward to eating on my own like a big bunny. Oh, and I like toys too! Love Dolce.

Chanel Chanel

I am a sable point siamese gold female bunny. I had a bad start to life, being dumped as a baby at a shelter. Nice people there put me in with another mom so I could live and called The Rabbit Haven to get help! The Haven rescued me and my friend Diamond and our mom. My friend Diamond and I have been hanging out together for a while now, and it has been an interesting few months. We have been bounced around a little more than I like so I'd like to have a permanent home soon. I have been spayed and I am healthy, happy and just lonely for a new family of my own. Now that I am spayed Diamond can go with me if you like like him. Check him out on the web too ok? Diamond and I agreed if I find a home sooner I should just go and we can keep in touch by email - We do love each other.

Love, Channel.

My friend is Chanel and I were abandoned at a shelter as babies. Back then we could not even see as we had just been born in a shleter!!!! That was a scary place to be for a couple of baby bunnies. The nice shelter staff put us together hoping to save our lives - our mom is really not our mom but she acted like our mom so we love her. Auntie Heather took us in and we were glad because that saved our lives! After we were 8 weeks old, our surrogate mom went off to another rescue. It's OK because she was ready to have space of her own, and we all love her and we thank her for raising us. I love hay, toys, cuddling and I am delicate and super gentle. I want a home of my own so much! I see other bunnies getting homes and I think it is my turn! I also love Channel, we could go to the same home together if you have room for two bunnies.

Love, Diamond.

My name is Toffee. I was a very frightened bunny at the shelter. I used to whimper in the corner and beg to be taken home. I do have a dislike of latex or rubber gloves, or hands that smell like these things. The kennel staff wear gloves like this when they were cleaning my cage. Thank goodness my Rabbit Haven volunteer noticed me crying and asked Auntie Heather to take me into her Haven. I'm a small girl bunny who likes to be pet, pet, pet, and have my ears rubbed. I don't mind being held for a while, but I'd much rather be a bunny who gets to sit on your lap or next you rather than being lifted high into the air. With the right person, I'm sure I'll learn to feel safe in their arms. I'm an active girl and there's nothing I love more than to re-arrange my room and toys. Give me a cardboard box and I'll make the doors and windows just the way I like them ! Come play with me to see if I'm your special some-bunny.

I'm a neutered young male bunny (born in January of 2008) that's ready for a forever home. I got my name because my coloring reminds people of a wild mouse, but I'm not a mouse - really! I am a Lagamorph! I'd love to be adopted with my brother, Popper, or to be paired up with another bunny. I'm quite a jumper, so my foster family put a lid on the pen I live in. It's a big area but I love lots of room to jump and play! Yipee!!!!. I love when they let me out to play and kick up my heels. I binky really high and run racetrack all around the kitchen. The cats just stare and don't know what to make of me. I'm not afraid of cats or dogs or anything. I love other animals. Am I right for you? I hope so because I am on the lookout for a special family to love me for years to come.

Emmett and Squirrel Emmett and Squirrel

Squirrel (the gorgeous brown girl) and Emmett (handsome white boy) are quite the bonded pair. They came to The Haven as babies and have grown up together, they're a little over a year old as of spring 2008. They were adopted out when young but due to their human's health issues they unfortunately had to come back to look for another family to bless with their presence. Squirrel is very friendly and will come up for pets. Emmett is shyer and waits until Squirrel is getting her lovies, then he'll feel safe to come up for his own. Quiet, mellow, very content bunnies they are used to cats, small dogs, other bunnies, and small birds. These are very undemanding bunnies, and they enjoy running back and forth doing their binkies. They are almost always relaxed, munching on their hay or laying around watching the world go by. But do watch your hands when you give them their pellets or their greens, they zoom right on over to scarf those down! They have been spayed/neutered, of course, and are doing well with their litterbox habits. They are calm, sweet and looking forward to going home with their new humans as soon as possible.

Jossalin

Jossalin

See my video!

Our lovely Jossalin came to The Haven in mid November 2007 with a horrific injury to her back right leg. Her foot was completely gone and the stump was dead with the bone sticking out. After she was stable and gained some weight, Jossalin's leg was amputated at the mid thigh. Dr. Carolynn Harvey of Chabot Vet Hospital in Hayward took excellent care of our girl and treated her like a queen. Jossalin came through the surgery with flying colors. After her recovery, physical therapy and lots of TLC she is now ready to find her forever home.

Jossalin has the courage of a lion and the grace of a ballerina. She has never once complained (grunted, nipped or fisticuffed) during her long ordeal. She took her medicines and cooperated with all the procedures she needed to get healthy. As far as she's concerned, all bunnies have just 3 legs! She runs wherever she wants, she gets herself in and out of her litterbox and she does the most adorable 3-legged binkies!

Jossalin has always loved attention and pets. She has a great appetite but will ignore her food until she has received enough lovies and scratches. If she feels that she's being ignored, she will simply follow you around! She also loves to snuggle up on the shoulder and relaxes so much she can fall asleep. She lies in her hidey box but often will have her head hanging out, she doesn't want to miss anything that is going on!

Jossalin is completely healed now and is ready for a super special family who will give her the love she is now used to getting. Her life was terrible before she was rescued but from now on she deserves nothing but gentle caring, fabulous quality food & toys, and to be the center of some loving family. She will need to see Dr. Harvey for all her future veterinary care.

Sunshine

This boy is looking for that someone special who wants to love him forever. Sunshine loves the privacy of his cage but blossoms with pen play time or better yet, total freedom. He will follow you from room to room, jump up on the couch with you to watch TV or help you make the bed. He lives with two dogs and a kitty who loves to run the hall with him. He was very shy and withdrawn when he first came to us. It took a lot of love and trust to get him out of his shell. He loves to throw his toys and play tunnel Peek a Boo with card board boxes. He seems to shy away from small children; I think they move to fast for him. Sunshine needs a loving home where he has plenty of pen time as well as free roam to share time with you.

Quinn Quinn

Quinn is a baby who came to The Haven as part of a rescue of a mom and her litter. He says:

I'm Quinn and you can tell me apart from my littermates by the large black spot on my nose. Like all baby bunnies I like to play but I am also very happy to cuddle in someone's lap. At night I like to sleep in a soft fleece bed. I love to play with other bunnies and cats! If you are looking for a friendly, cute, cuddle bunny than I am the guy for you.

Spooky & Alexandria

SNUGGLE BUNNY ALERT!!!

Spooky, a 1.5 year old neutered male, is a gorgeous silver fox (black with white flecks). He is one of the most loving rabbits you will ever meet. He loves to give kisses & and have his back scratched. His favorite game is rolling the large jingle ball back and forth with a person. He also likes to sleep in his wicker tunnel and cottontail cottage. He enjoys jumping high in the air and kicking up his heels during playtime.

Alexandria, a 1 year old spayed female, is a darling black dwarf/rex mix that is as sweet and loving as Spooky. She too enjoys snuggling and loves to be under the covers. Her favorite place is her cottontail cottage and is famous for doing binkies in the morning when she sees her pellets coming.

This loving pair is inseparable. They love lying next to one another, grooming each other & playing together. Spooky keeps rolling the jingle ball to Alex-seeming sure one of these times she will roll it back! They enjoy snuggling on the sofa with their foster mom & sharing kisses with her & each other. Spooky & Alex need to live in a tall Xpen in a quiet home with a rabbit savvy adult. The are pretty low maintenance rabbits. Very clean and smart. A home with children would be too overwhelming for them. A home with cats is okay but no dogs please. This is a truly loving pair who deserves only the best!
