Abandoned babies are showing up at all our area shelters! Calls are coming in from the public who find tiny newborns and
need help. Just yesterday we picked up a tiny (domestic) kit abandoned at Native Animal Rescue - He was left there with
a couple of birds on their doorstep. We have singles, small groups and litters of babies who come is as "strays". Some
are picked up by Animal Control, they are found in parks, abandoned, cold, starving, and often barely clinging to life.
Some have moms and most do not. This is indeed a sad situation. Some of these babies are only days old, or born within
hours of arrival at shelters. Most shelters cannot keep these babies and the outcome is often grim. Very few shelters
are designed to accommodate a new litter and some shelters contact us immediately - Some shelters are opting to simply
euthanize. The Rabbit Haven does everything possible to help save these newborn kits. Sadly, some do not survive as
they arrive too late, too injured, or too malnourished. Those that do make it usually require critical care support,
syringe feeding, and a high level of suppport to pull them through.
The Rabbit Haven is helping as many babies as possible and You can help us help them!
Consider the joy of fostering a special family (it is an 8 week commitment). You can foster a single baby and help
to syringe feed and provide the care needed by these sweet baby bunnies. If you cannot foster, you can sponsor a baby
by donating to The Haven in the name of a special baby you may see on our web.. We will in turn send you pictures of the
baby you are sponsoring. Your donation will help us provide the quality care these bunnies need. We need funds to pay
for needed supplies, Kitten Milk Replacement formula, special enclosures for mothers and kits, and related items needed by tiny newborns.
like medications, sub cutaneous fluids, and vet care. We have a great need for new foster sites as we are becoming overwhelmed and we
do not want to have to turn away a baby in need. Anyone wishing to foster a mom and her litter, a single baby, or
possibly an adult bunny (that would free up a space so another foster site can take in a mom and kits), Just call us.
We can send you an application on the computer and have you set up in a day or two. 831 239-7119 or Email

mailed to The Haven or via our PayPal account.
Thank you for caring - Here's to a bright future for all the little kits
and bunnies and to their bunny parents too! Let's make this happen.
