I am Hope. I have soft white fur and magical ruby colored eyes. I was rescued when I was only 4 weeks old. I once lived in the Moreland Woods with my mommy, siblings and friends. We were scared so often. Dogs chased us, and humans came in to hurt us too. We were scared often. My mommy and her friends would eat the grass on the lawn in the school field & dried leaves too. She would tell me stories about how some other animals like big birds called hawks, cats, dogs and raccoons would take her friends and family away and that they would cross the rainbow bridge far, far, away never to return. I don't know where rainbow bridge is, but it was sad not see them again.

One day my mommy did not return to our home. My sisters and I waited and waited. We were all alone with nothing to eat. We still needed mommy's milk to help us grow. Since I was the bravest bunny, I went outside to find my mommy and return her back home. Did she go to a place called "the rainbow bridge"? I was so scared, but I had to try to find her. I don't know where the bridge is, but maybe one of those animals mom talked about might tell me how to get there. They know the way. Mommy said that they came in the woods often. I was hungry but I kept on hopping, hopping, looking for mommy. Where is she? My sisters were counting on me.

It was a very hot afternoon. I was getting very thirsty and did I tell you that I was hungry too? Then I passed under a wire fence because I was tiny. What is this? It feels like a hard smooth rock and never felt that before. I was on a walking path for humans. There were large colored metal things (cars) going fast In front of me. I have never seen that before too. Then a human saw me and I saw the human. Mommy told me that some humans were good and some were bad. I didn't want to take any chances so I hopped back into the bushes to the woods into safety. I ran fast as fast as my tiny feet could go. Oops, the bush is too dense and I can't move. Human hands gently picked me up. Is he taking me to "the rainbow bridge"? Will I see my mommy soon? My sisters will be so proud of me.

The human took me to Auntie Heather. She is a very nice human and gave me something that tasted like mommy's milk. Mommy's milk tasted better but I was so hungry. She checked me all over. I feel a lot better now. I am not hungry or thirsty anymore. Auntie said that she will look for my mommy and my sisters. For now, I have other friends to play with. Hey! I was named "Hope" because I'm the Hope for all the other bunnies in the Moreland woods - soon they will all be safe I am hoping. It will be so good when we can all be happy, loved and to be safe.
