Rest in Peace dear friend

Our precious Karyn, who worked as a volunteer for the Rabbit Haven for several years suffered a fall while in Capitola and did not survive. Karyn passed away at 6 PM Saturday 9-12-2009.

I will always remember Karyn as a sunny, funny, smart and sweet person who lit up the room when she arrived. I loved her so much. She had just visited us at the Santa Cruz show Saturday around 2 PM and talked with several Haven people. She seemed so happy and had just had a special haircut. She had brought Faith, her bunny, in for nail trim (and to visit).

Karyn was the beloved bunny mom of Cocoa Puff (in the land of rainbows) and most recently, Faith, her sweet Havana bunny. I understand that Faith is now with Karyn's mother, safe and happy.

Karyn volunteered with the Rabbit Haven for years and has been so helpful to our rescue and adoption efforts. Karyn transported critical care rabbits and performed so many duties behind the scenes. She will be sorely missed and all of us at the Haven are stunned and in shock to learn of this tragedy. Karyn had a special and unique relationship with each Haven member. She added so much to all of our lives. Her work with the rabbits was very important and she was a dedicated volunteer and friend.

A special memorial for Karyn in celebration of her life will be held at Oakwood Memorial Chapel at 3301 Paul Sweet Rd Santa Cruz, Ca 831 - 475-2464. There is no public viewing and there is no casket.

We are gathering to bid Karyn a fond farewell and all her friends, associates at The Rabbit Haven and at her place of employment are invited to attend.

The Rabbit Haven family and any other friends who wish to join us will also have a candle lighting ceremony at our individual homes at 9 PM Friday evening in Karyn's honor. The family asked that donations be made to the Rabbit Haven in her honor. If you wish to provide flowers, you may - The nearest floral site is The Santa Cruz floral shop 458-9232. I hope to see you to pay our respects to Karyn at 2PM tomorrow if you can make it - If not, we will have the 9PM candle ceremony for her.
