North Star Rescue is working with San Jose Animal Control officers to help save the lives of 150 rats who were discovered in overcrowded, unsanitary conditions in a residence in San Jose. At this point we are cooperating with Animal Control to try and line up as many homes and foster homes that would be able to help house some of the rats before they enter the shelter and risk euthanasia. Many of these rats are socialized and friendly but have simply not been well kept and are in need of a clean place to live, clean food and water. Many of these rats are dumbo eared, rex furred, fawn hooded or more exotic color variations and would make fantastic pets for anyone who is willing to give a rat who has had a rough start a second chance in life.
North Star Rescue will be partnering with other Bay Area Rat Rescues to save as many lives as we can. If you can help by fostering, adopting, contributing supplies or towards our vet bills please visit our How To Help page at www.NorthStarRescue.org or e-mail Lauren at northbayrescue@yahoo.com.
