Animal lovers- this is the right spot for YOU!

Join a fun group that helps rabbits in need

Want to help rescued bunnies while they wait in foster care? Rabbit haven is looking for a few great volunteers who want to help care for these special Haven bunnies.

Foster site Help: Our large foster sites are in need of volunteers. Typically Haven site volunteers are needed to help clean bunny cages and habitats, provide food and water to all rabbits , to change the bedding in rooms, and to place rabbit in play zones for play time.
Volunteers help the bunnies by loving them, grooming, petting and spending quality time with them while they play.

Volunteers shuttle rabbits, pick up supplies, run other errands as needed. Everyone works cooperatively.

We also have position open for our Rabbit adoption team as Haven show volunteers!

This group of volunteers is central to our success in placing rabbits into loving, permanent, indoor homes. Show volunteers attend our adoption events every two weeks Sat at Pet Pals in Soquel 11-5 or For Other Living Things in Sunnyvale 11-4. Show counselors are trained to educate the public, help show the rabbit potential new humans they may want to live with. Counselors help new families complete their adoption paperwork and assist with questions regarding bunny care and set ups. It is fun.

Show volunteers may also help set up Friday evenings (In Soquel) and may help close the show Sat evening.
Adoption Show staff are our main PR people! Our staff treats people and rabbits with respect and always remains positive and constructive working with the public.

Adoption show counselors need to be somewhat outgoing and always positive with a high tolerance for the public. This can be challenging- each show event we see a variety of people. Some are nice while others can be difficult. There are crying children, sweet little ones, people with a variety of animals, all sorts of personalities and so many questions. Just an assortment of every kind of person imaginable. Basically, they are there to pet, find out info to adopt or just be with the rabbits. Our job is to educate ever person who attends our shows and to help the bunnies find a new human companion. Haven staff helps the public all about the wonders of house rabbits. They leave knowing more than when they arrived.

A smile and open communication goes a long way to beginning the education process about house rabbits. Keeping positive with the public and potential adopters is a great Public relations tool - Rabbit Haven is known to be the place to come to learn about rabbits. Both inexperienced and experienced people come to our shows. We assist everyone who comes to us.

Of course training is provided in all areas! We need you so much! Hey, those of you looking for a job, this looks good on your resume if you are short of work experience. I also will give employment references!

Special projects: There is even more fun ways that you can participate. We have building projects, show projects, children’s education programs, poster design projects, and flyer posting projects, Holiday craft projects.

You can fit into our system in so many ways - Everyone can be involved.

We are looking for people who want to make a difference in animal welfare and who are interested in joining with a community group devoted to rabbit rescue, care, support and placement. Lend you skills and join in the fun of caring for little bunnies.

We need coverage 6 days a week. So call us today and see what you can do.

Students: We can provide you continuing education units if it is part of your plan with your school. Ask your school counselor. Those needing work release hours will find no better arrangements than these loving supportive bunny sites. You can just relax and help our a few bunnies and soon your work time will be complete. We are a non profit so we may be a site for you.
We do accept people 14 and up and we do need guardian or parent permission. There is always adult supervision at pour main foster sites.
